Internationally recognized as an innovative and highly practical
defense tactics system
The Krav Maga
system has received international recognition as an innovative and
highly practical defensive tactics system ideally suited for people
of all skill levels and physical condition. According to experts who
have undergone Krav Maga training, the most important and striking
characteristics of the system are:
1.
Efficient Training Period. Trainees attain a high level of proficiency in a
relatively short period of instruction.
2.
Retention of Training. Because the system is based upon common principles and
natural/instinctive movements, trainees retain Krav Maga techniques
with minimal review and practice.
3.
Practical Techniques. The core emphasis of Krav Maga is on effectiveness and
simplicity. This defensive tactics system provides realistic
defenses against a variety of aggressive attacks, whether the
assailant is armed or unarmed.
4.
Performance Under Stress. Training styles and methods unique to the Krav Maga system
provide reality-based training designed to improve the trainee’s
emotional and physical response to danger.

Krav Maga is comprised of two main parts: self defense and hand
to hand combat.
Training in Krav Maga is practical and realistic
Krav Maga
training provides realistic hands-on training in defensive methods
to enable you to defend against a variety of hostile attacks, e.g.,
chokes, headlocks, bear hugs.
You
will train to defend against assailants using personal body weapons
(strikes, kicks, etc.), blunt objects, edged weapons, and handguns
or rifles, including when the assailant takes you to the ground.
The Krav Maga
Staff is composed of instructors highly experienced in training
military and law enforcement personnel, and are accomplished in
advanced hand to hand and weapons defense training.
Frequently Asked
Questions
Do I have to
wear a uniform or any special equipment?
Yes. You will need Krav Gear: tee-shirt and pants. Sneakers are also
required for training. Wrist wraps or mixed martial arts style
gloves (bag gloves) are required for training. Other safety items
such as groin protection for men and mouth guards are essential for
most activities. These items as well as the latest Krav Maga logo
gear can be purchased from our pro shops. STUDENTS SHOULD NOT
WEAR JEWELRY AT ANY TIME DURING CLASS.
Do I need to
be an athlete or have previous martial arts experience to take Krav
Maga?
Absolutely not! It doesn't take size, muscle mass, or a body-builder
physique to excel at Krav Maga. What IS required is your drive and
determination. Even though classes are in a group setting you will
receive individual attention from our instructors so that you can
progress at your own pace.
Is Krav Maga
training safe? Will I get hurt?
Krav Maga is as safe as any other martial arts or self-defense
training. We go to great lengths to ensure client safety, and
classes are very tightly controlled
by our team of expert instructors. The chances of injury are often
quite less than for any other sport. The chance of getting injured
when attacked, however, are quite high. As in any endeavor of this
kind, students are required to sign a waiver acknowledging the
possible dangers associated with training in Krav Maga.
Is there a
belt system in Krav Maga?
There is a belt system in Krav Maga with testing required for
promotion to the next level, but we do not wear any indication of
rank.
Is there
sparring?
We believe that sparring is a great training method, and for those
interested we have our fight program available to all students that
are interested. Full protection is required (head gear, mouthpiece,
boxing gloves, and shin pads), and we will cover all aspects of
fighting including movement, combinations, and mindset.
What about
fitness? Is Krav Maga only about punching and kicking?
Krav Maga utilizes high-intensity drills and training methods that
rival any form of fitness training you’ll find anywhere. Many
clients choose to train in Krav Maga solely for the fitness
benefits. Each class will leave you sweaty and exhausted, but that's
all in a day's work.
